1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use buatnow.com and any BuatNow service (together, "BuatNow"). By using BuatNow you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use BuatNow. Our Privacy Notice and Refund & Cancellation Policy form part of these terms.

2. Who we are

3. What BuatNow does

BuatNow is an online job board. People who need work done ("job owners") post jobs and name their price. People who do the work ("workers") list when they are available and quote on or accept jobs. Our brands are BuatHome, BuatCar, BuatClean, BuatChef and BuatDelivery, with BuatQuick for urgent jobs.

Unless a job is booked and paid through BuatNow under section 8, the agreement for the work is between the job owner and the worker. BuatNow is not a party to it and does not employ workers. [to be confirmed]

Current status. BuatNow is in pre-launch. Some features described on the website (online payment for packages, broadcasting jobs to workers, WhatsApp and Telegram ordering, booking and payment through BuatNow, the materials credit, and worker insurance, SOCSO and EPF) are not live yet. They are marked "coming soon" or "planned" and we may change them before launch.

4. Using BuatNow

• You must be at least 18 years old, or have a parent or guardian's permission, and able to enter a binding contract.
• The information you give (including job details, prices, availability and contact details) must be true and kept up to date.
• To post jobs, list your availability, quote or accept quotes on the shared board you need a free BuatNow account (email and password). Your name, area, job details, listings and quotes are shown to other users as the website describes.
• Keep your password safe and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what is done through your account.
• Where accounts are not available in your view of the website, anything you add is saved in your own browser only and other users cannot see it.

5. Job owners

• Describe the job, place, timing and price honestly. Do not post jobs that are illegal, unsafe or that need a licence the worker is not told about.
• You are responsible for checking a worker is suitable for the job, including any licence or permit the work needs (for example electrical or gas work).
• Pay the agreed price for work done as agreed.

6. Workers

• Listing your availability, quoting and accepting jobs is free. BuatNow does not take a commission from your pay.
• Only accept work you are qualified, licensed (where needed) and legally allowed to do in Malaysia.
• You are an independent worker, not an employee of BuatNow, and you are responsible for your own tax and statutory contributions unless BuatNow tells you in writing that a planned scheme (for example SOCSO or EPF) applies to you. [to be confirmed]

7. Fees and packages

Posting a job on the website and listing your availability are free. Optional paid packages for job owners let you see workers' contact details and contact them directly. The prices shown on the website for Malaysia are: Basic RM36.80 a year, Plus RM368 a year and Business RM3,688 a year, plus a fee on each booked job (8%, 5% or 3%). Package fees are charged once a year and are separate from the price of any job. [to be confirmed]

How packages are bought today. Online payment is not built yet. You ask for a package on WhatsApp (+60 11-1006 1918), pay by [to be confirmed], and BuatNow switches the package on for your account once payment is received. Package prices for Indonesia and Singapore are not set yet. The booking fee only applies once booking through BuatNow launches (section 8).

Points, ratings and grades

Job owners can rate a worker after a job is marked done. Ratings, the number of jobs done, worker grades (from Apprentice to Grand Master) and "Verified" badges are shown on worker listings. Points shown in your account are a loyalty and ranking measure only: they have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and we may change how they are earned. [to be confirmed]

8. Booking, payments and materials credit (coming soon)

When booking through BuatNow launches, it is planned to work like this. These details may change before launch and will be confirmed here first.

1. The job owner sends the job with their price. BuatNow sends it to matching workers.
2. A worker accepts the price.
3. The job owner pays a downpayment to BuatNow: 50%, or 30% on Business.
4. 30% of the job price is credited to the worker's BuatNow account to buy materials for the job. It can't be withdrawn before the job is done. Any unspent credit is paid out to the worker when the job is done.
5. When the job is done, the job owner is charged the balance plus their package's fee, and the worker is paid.

9. Launch offer

The "Free first job broadcast" offer for job owners who register early has its own terms, shown on the early registration page.

10. Advertising and sponsored content

Businesses may pay for featured listings, brand sponsorships or campaigns. Every paid placement is labelled as sponsored. A sponsored placement is not a recommendation by BuatNow.

11. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give BuatNow a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and share it on BuatNow and in sending jobs to matching users, for as long as it is on BuatNow. The BuatNow name, logo, brands, design and the brand film belong to BuatNow [to be confirmed].

12. What you must not do

• Post anything false, misleading, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene or illegal.
• Use BuatNow to harass anyone, collect other users' data, send spam, or arrange work that breaks Malaysian law.
• Try to break, overload, scrape or get around the security of BuatNow.
• Pretend to be someone else or a business you do not represent.

13. Our responsibility to you

We work to keep BuatNow accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" during pre-launch. We do not check every job, listing or worker, and we do not promise that a job will be accepted or done to a particular standard, except where a booked job is covered by terms we publish for booking.

To the extent the law allows, BuatNow is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts of job owners or workers. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid BuatNow in the 12 months before the claim [to be confirmed]. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 or any other law that cannot be excluded.

14. Suspension and closing an account

We may remove content or suspend access if these terms are broken or to protect users. You may stop using BuatNow at any time. Refunds, if any, follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, especially as features launch. We will post the new version here with a new date, and tell registered users about important changes before they take effect.

16. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. If a dispute cannot be settled by talking to us first, it will go to the courts of Malaysia [to be confirmed].
